In radio frequency systems, especially during testing and tuning, loads ensure stable operation of generators and amplifiers by simulating a real consumer without emitting a signal into the air. - Operating frequency – the range is specified in MHz or GHz (e.g., up to 3 GHz, 6 GHz, or even 18 GHz). It’s important to choose a load with a frequency range equal to or greater than your system’s signal frequency to avoid impedance mismatch.
- Power rating – ranges from a few watts to hundreds of watts (e.g., 2 W, 50 W, 100 W or more). Low-power loads are sufficient for small-signal tests, while amplifier or transmitter testing requires devices with active heat dissipation.
- Connectors – common types include N-type, SMA, BNC, 7/16 DIN, and others. The choice depends on your equipment's connection interface.
